Online Image Converter does not collect, store, upload, or transmit your images or personal data to any server. All decoding, resizing, compression, vectorization, and conversions run 100% locally inside your web browser’s memory sandbox using HTML5 Canvas, WebAssembly (Wasm), and Web Workers.
1 Zero Server Uploads & Local In-Browser Processing
Traditional online conversion utilities transmit user files across the internet to remote cloud clusters for rendering. In contrast, Online Image Converter utilizes modern web APIs (HTML5 Canvas 2D Context, WebAssembly, and client-side memory Buffers) to process pictures locally on your CPU/GPU hardware.
- No Remote Storage: Your photos, graphics, scans, and documents never touch external disks or databases.
- No Bandwidth Interception: Zero raw image bytes are sent over the network, eliminating middleman data harvesting or interception risks.
- Instant Destruction: Once you close or reload the browser tab, all temporary memory allocations in RAM are immediately wiped by browser garbage collection.
2 No User Accounts, Tracking Cookies, or Telemetry
We believe high-utility web tools should respect user sovereignty. Online Image Converter adheres to strict zero-tracking principles:
- No Mandatory Accounts: We do not require usernames, passwords, phone numbers, or email registrations.
- No Profiling or Advertising Cookies: We do not deploy advertising pixels, behavioural trackers, or fingerprinters.
- No Image Telemetry: We do not inspect, log, or categorize the contents or file names of the images you convert.
3 EXIF Metadata & Location Privacy
Modern smartphone photos (iPhone HEIC, Android JPGs) often contain embedded Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) metadata, which may include GPS geographical coordinates, camera serial numbers, and exact timestamps.
By default, our conversion pipeline renders fresh pixels to an HTML5 canvas buffer, which automatically strips all sensitive EXIF headers and geolocational metadata, ensuring your private location is never exposed when sharing converted images.
4 Third-Party Services & Voluntary Donations
Our application may include a voluntary, user-initiated widget to support project maintenance (e.g. Buy Me a Coffee / GitHub Sponsors). Interacting with external payment or sponsorship providers is entirely optional and governed by their respective privacy policies.
5 Global Compliance (GDPR, CCPA, COPPA)
Because we do not store, process, or collect personal data on remote servers, Online Image Converter inherently meets and exceeds the privacy requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other global data protection standards under the principle of Privacy by Design and Default.
